Testing Wilderness Skills at The Human Path

Sunday, July 13, 2014

Human PathThe Human Path youth camps seek to create a new generation of nature lovers by offering programs that inspire creativity, curiosity, passion, and playfulness while in the woods. The staff there hope that by re-establishing a lasting connection to the natural world, we will once again see just how important it is to our existence. Camping outdoors is a great opportunity to put kids' skills to the test and allows them to enjoy staying up late telling stories, cooking s'mores and playing games.

The Human Path is a community-minded, ecology-based, wilderness-survival, urban-survival and wilderness-living school offering a huge variety of outdoor, bushcraft classes: outdoor fitness, wilderness and primitive living skills, plant medicine, small unit tactics, reconnaissance, tracking certification, wilderness medicine, herbology (a.k.a. herbalism), self-defense, teamwork and leadership, primitive and off-grid engineering, permaculture certification, aquaponics, green building, knife-making and blacksmithing, outdoor fitness, and much more.

The classes are sustainability and earth-centric, yet also very practical and realistic. You can visit their Sloop page for all the details, but here's what is on the horizon still this summer:
